Social Skills Groups
Crozet Speech and Learning offers group social learning opportunities as members of Blue Ridge Social Club (BRSC). These groups are a place for our children to develop meaningful relationships with age-matched peers, in a safe and supportive environment. At CSLC, we believe in neuro-affirming practices, empowering our clients to become confident and inclusive social communicators while navigating the digital and physical world. Groups are child centered and play based, and focus on development of the following:
- Self Advocacy
- Perspective taking
- Reading the Room/Hidden Rules (Social Context)
- Initiation of Communication
- Interoception for Awareness of Feelings,Sensations, and Thoughts
- Self and Social Regulation
- Interpretation of Nonliteral Language
- Development of Social Identity
- Relationship/Friendship Development
- Social Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Digital Citizenship: Communication and Safety
- Group, Play, and Collaboration

Individual Sessions
In addition to group learning opportunities, we also offer individualized support. These services can be beneficial for engaging in deeper social learning and support development of goals for home and school.
School Support and Consultation
Direct work with the child’s school to support social learning in and out of the classroom (e.g., PE, lunch).
Comprehensive Social-Cognitive Communication Assessment
Comprehensive assessment of social language and cognition is available to create a communication profile, form treatment goals, and develop supports at school and home.
